After a fantastic rotation session, Bryan and Leyla have made the decision to join the Derosa lab as the first crop of founding members! We are super proud of the amazing progress they've made already, and we look forward to their success and discoveries in the coming years.
Bryan earned his B.S. in Chemistry under the supervision of Professor Raymond Shively at Baldwin Wallace University, studying iron half-sandwich complexes for organic synthesis. He also conducted a summer internship here at BU in the Jeffries-EL group!
Leyla earned her B.S. in Chemistry at the University of Rochester working with Professor Bradley Nilsson, where she became a peptide coupling expert. She also worked in Professor David MacMillan's lab at Princeton University for a summer, where she explored copper-based photocatalytic trifluoromethylation.
Welcome to you both – exciting times ahead!
