Perspective on Recent Developments in Shono-type Functionalization Published in ACS Electrochemistry

Nearly 50 years after Prof. Tatsuya Shono's seminal report on anodic oxidation of aliphatic amines in methanol solvent to generate hemiaminals, we are honored to highlight recent strategies in the last 10 years that serve to innovate Shono-type methodology to new heights. From carefully tailored reaction conditions to redox mediators and controlling potentials, we are excited to witness the continued evolution of Shono-type strategies toward late-stage functionalization campaigns.
